PINKie toes

Friday afternoon I painted my toe nails hot pink. Something I enjoy in the spring. Upon awakening from her nap, Emilee discovered my pink toe nails. She then proceeded to pull off her socks, and followed me around chirping "pink!" every three seconds. After about 10 minutes, I asked her if she wanted me to paint her toes. "PINK!!!" She cried!

So, I pulled out my lightest baby pink nail polish (suitable for a little girl I thought), and we proceeded to have pedicures. . .
She thought this was great fun. And once they were dry, she toddled off to the bathroom, and returned with . . .
the hot pink. Baby pink was not cutting it. "Pink!" she cries! So . . . we took the baby pink off, and repainted.
And she was very happy.

You'll never guess which dress she wanted to wear this morning. . ."Pink!"
I love having a girl!

Happy Birthday Aidan!

It's a pizza party!
With light saber cup cakes!
And a jedi battle!
the pool noodle light sabers were a HUGE hit with the boys. They battled it out for at least 45 minutes in the back yard, then came in for another round of pizza.

At one point they all ganged up on the biggest jedi. . .

Happy Birthday Aidan!!!

It's been a long week. . .

Well, it's been a long one. I've been too pooped to do much more than flop into bed each night, let alone update everyone on the wilde happenings. Here's the breakdown. . .

Last Saturday night we inherited two more children, my niece and nephew, Carolyn (age 3) and Blake (age 1). Their grandpa on the other side of the family passed away very suddenly, and their parents were out of town. So, if you're interested in keeping track that's SIX children that were under my care for the whole week, all under the age of 8 (Michelle, I don't know how you do it). Plus, it was spring break. (so everyone was home FULL TIME). Plus, our house was listed on the market Monday morning, meaning that it needs to be sparkly, clean, and ready for a tour at all times.

Are you getting the idea. . .

SERENITY NOW!!!

It's been very busy. The only outings we made were to Costco for a hot dog lunch, and that was just because it was raining outside and we needed something to do, and lots of people looked at me with "she's crazy" eyes and said things like "wow, you're a brave woman" (and they were right). We had a birthday party where seven 7 year olds came for two hours. And unfortunately, we haven't had a showing on the house yet. So, I kind of feel like I'm dusting, vacuuming, and sparkling things just for the fun of it.

Calgon, take me away. . .

On a good note, the children enjoyed themselves immensely. And we even think we're going to miss that little Blake sleeping in the closet. Looking forward to a quieter week. . .

Deep Breath, everyone. . .

Okay, okay, everyone calm down now. Sorry, I did not mean to leave everyone hanging, I forget that even though Gordon and I have been talking about this for the past four years, we haven't really talked about it with anyone else.

We are staying local. We are moving because we need some more room for our family of growing kids. We are looking for a home in the same area that has a floor plan a little more conducive to what our family needs right now, and with some bigger bedrooms (and a big tub for me :) Gordon will keep his same job and we will hopefully stay in this home until the end of the school year. If we have to move out before then, it will probably be into a temporary apartment close to where we are now so the kids can finish school in their own classrooms. We are hoping for an early summer move, if all the stars align.

Okay, everybody still alright? Glad I could clear that up. I wasn't trying to create mystery!

Um, where is Rachel?

Well, I've been. . .

Cleaning the family room. . .
and helping the boys clean theirs.
Cleaning my bedroom,
organizing the nursery. . .
and the kitchen.
Taking pictures of my house,
laying bark dust,
oh, and having a birthday,
sanding the floors,
and painting the doors.
WHY? Because Monday morning our house officially goes on the RMLS. Exciting, scary, fun, emotional, and most of all. . . A LOT OF WORK. I think we're almost ready. One more weekend to go. We're hoping for a quick sale so we don't have to pretend that we're really this tidy all the time for months and months. It's going to be a wild ride with four kids. Wish us luck!!! Hopefully after we're on the market and things calm down a bit with the prep, I'll be back to the blogging! Grammy has let me know that this absence is unacceptable.

Party Time! (finally!)

Emilee had to wait a few days on her birthday party. We had originally rescheduled for Friday, but we were still too sick! So, we decided to do it Monday night. Our cousins didn't get to come, because we were STILL too sick (Chandler has Pneumonia!) but we partied anyway. Poor Chandler fell asleep at the dinner table right before the party so he ended up missing it, but our little two year old had the time of her life! She loved every one of her presents and really enjoyed opening them.
She also loved the cupcakes and said "cupcake cupcake cupcake!!!" over and over and over. It was most cute. Grandpa Alan got to join us for the party, which was a nice surprise. He was here on a quick visit from AK.
Happy Birthday little darling!
