Nativity

I'm getting so behind!  So much going on here, just like at your house I'm sure!  One of the things we've worked on this month is this little nativity, that was shown at last night's ward party.  The kids were so cute and everyone enjoyed it!

This upload of the show will be terrible quality, we are working on a way to share this file with everyone in the ward who asks, so if you would like it please let me know!  We're working on it!

More to come soon. . .  I need to figure out this new computer!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know I am about a week late on this one, but better late than never!  We had a lovely Thanksgiving here in our new home.  The turkey took a return trip to the oven when we were fooled by our first thermometer reading, and stalled things a bit, but it was all still delicious and hot when eating time came.  Gordon is becoming quite the expert carver.

Cousins played and we worked on a puzzle all afternoon, even finishing it that night!
Two little pilgrims joined us at the table.
And just to make sure the day was a success, we had 6 types of pie to choose from!  This was fantastic because there were plenty of left overs!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We have much to be thankful for!

Heidi Bear

A day doesn't go by when Gordon and I don't say that Heidi has got to be the sweetest little peanut that ever lived.  She is the sweetest tempered baby I've ever known.  She doesn't make a peep unless she's happy as a clam and cooing, or starving.  It's kind of like having a sweet little pet koala bear that just loves to hang out with you.  This little girl is the cherry on top of our family sundae.

Look at that little butterball of love. . .

Here she is last night, when she fooled me into thinking she was going to go to sleep, and then at 10:45, this is what we were doing!  But, you know, she's such a sweetheart we don't even mind.
I hope this video works, it's from my Ipod last night. . .
We love you, Heidi Bear!

a quick trip

Gordon and I had the opportunity to make a quick impromptu trip to Los Angeles this past weekend to wish my dear Grandpa happy trails.  He has lived a good life and is 92 years old.  His heart is failing and it became obvious he would not be with us much longer, so we went down to see him one last time.  He has been a wonderful grandpa who was always there for us, never missed a birthday party or sporting event, and taught us all what generosity truly is.  We will miss him so much and I'm so thankful for my brothers and sisters in law who stepped in on a moments notice and took our four oldest for the weekend.
It was also the first time in a long time that I got to see my brother and sister on the same day.  It was a great trip, Heidi was an angel the entire time, and we are so grateful we had the opportunity to go!

UPDATE:  Gramps passed away peacefully in his sleep last night (11/9/11).  We are going to miss him and are happy he never had to suffer.

I've seen you before. . .

One Emilee, one Heidi.  Sometimes she looks so much like her sister it's like a flashback.  Want to guess who is who?

Halloween!

Sweet Releif  it's November!  We've had so much Halloween fun we can hardly take it any more.  Here's a little glimpse of costumes, 2011

We had a lady bug. . .  as I mentioned before.

Percy Jackson, of "the Lightning Theif."  Here you can see his shoe wings are helping him to fly.  I wish he had his trident in the pictures!  Hurray for PVC pipe, aluminum foil, and spray paint.

Angelina Ballerina, who would only pout for these pictures.  I can't remember why.  She wore this to the ward party.

But tonight she is red riding hood again, and sporting the beautiful Dirndl that Grammy and Grampy brought her straight from Saltzburg.

 Bat Man!
This is how batman stands (so I'm told).

And, Aidan decided not to have a costume or go trick or treating this year.  He kind of hates that part.  So, he's stayed home and passed out candy with me.  We had a great time!

Happy Halloween!!!

Grammy's Visit

My mother stayed for a week after Heidi's blessing day.  It's always so much fun to have Grammy around!  And, it was so nice to have an extra set of hands in the house.  I was able to run the kids to school without packing up the girls a couple of times, and shower, and do a few other things that sometimes put on the backburner these days.  while she was here, we:

Put Heidi in a pumpkin
Made a new cover for our expanded table.  We did this five years ago and we have worn it out!  That, and we need a leaf in the table now.  This is one of those things that you can only tackle with somebody you really love, it's that big of a pain.  So if you come over to my house and see how amazing it is, and want me to make you one, I'll probably say something like, "when pigs fly."  My mom must love me a lot.  :)
We played with Heidi the wonder baby lots and lots.  She is such a love.
And, Grammy's ladybug dreams came true for Halloween.  Heidi was very cooperative!
Thanks for coming Gram!  We love you lots and lots!

Blessing Day

Today was Heidi Ann's blessing day, a very happy day!  It was a beautiful fall day and we were able to enjoy it with many family and friends.  Phoebe Ann's blessing was also today, born just a week apart, these girls are destined to be good friends!  (and they both played the same trick on their mama's in their blessing dresses!  GIRLS!  Behave yourselves!)
Here is all of the family who came to support us.  It was so nice to have everyone together at church, wish we could do it more often!  (and the extra laps for Emilee to sit on are always nice!)
 the fam

Our little beauty in her creamy dress.  I was going to make her a new blessing dress, but I love this one so much I decided both girls should wear it.  She looked so beautiful today.

Just one of the many reasons. . .

I could have given you a about 200 reasons why I always hoped for a daughter.  And this little black sweater dress is probably about #86.  I love Sundays!

Guess who's Grinning?

Our little lady has started holding her head up and smiling!  It's so much fun!
Chandler and Emilee make great cheerleaders!

Cinderella goes to the Ball

Emilee got invited to a "princess party" where they had a lovely little tea party and did their nails and were all princesses for a day.  She had a wonderful time!  Here she is showing off her lovely princess look.  We didn't have a tiara for her to wear so we braided one in.
This is how you strike a princess pose. . .

the Sweetest Sleeper

My little Heidi has got to be the sweetest, most content baby around.  She is the happiest sleeper I have ever seen.  In fact, most of the time when she's napping, she's got just the slightest smile on her lips.
 What a happy napper!

I love this girl.  I'd love her even if she was fussy and cranky, but she sure makes it easy to love her with her peaceful little spirit!
