Party Time!

Last night we had a very fun little party for Miss Emilee.  She was so excited!  We opened presents first so she and her cousins and brothers could play with her new things.  She got some fun books from G&G Wilde, including CD's with Grandma reading the books, she loves them!

 We had to hide her eyes while we brought out her big present from G&G Price, and Mom and Daddy. . .

 She and Blake spent the rest of the night cooking up soup and pie.

 Today Emilee has really enjoyed her books, as well as Chandler!  They've listened to both several times.  (like maybe 20!)

Basketball Pictures

I've been at it again, the renegade mom boycotting the expensive team photos and coming up with our own.  This time around we offered it to the whole team and almost everyone jumped on board.  The parents were so appreciative.  Unfortunately for me, these photos came at a small price, the use of my legs for 3 days or so (well, I'm hoping it's just three days!).  I pulled all the muscles in my quads and hammies kneeling down to take the pictures.  I got down about 3 times, and the third time I got up my body objected.  So pathetic!!!  This could be a long pregnancy. . .  But the pictures turned out cute!!!

Gecko Toes

Did you know Chandler spends more time off the ground than on it?  If he is walking around, or playing, he is up in the air, blocking some doorway.  I'm constantly saying, "get down so I can go through."

Maybe we should look into a gymnastics class?

Chandler climbs the walls, shimmies up the doors, and anything he can get his little gecko toes around.  This pull up bar has been heaven sent.  He can at least hang onto that instead of the door jams and such!

Happy Valentines!

 Yesterday Gordon won the day as our valentines hero.  The first reason was that he brought me a big gulp of Diet Coke which killed my killer headache (it's a 2nd trimester thing for me).  Sweet caffeine.

And the next reason, is because he went back out to his car and when he came in called Emilee, and I heard her gasp, put her hands over her heart and then say, "for me?"  He brought his little valentine a rose and a piece of chocolate.  Swoon!

 Every girl needs a sweet valentine.  She was so excited!

And then we ate our delicious traditional heart shaped pizza and swigged I swigged my big gulp.  It was rather a valentines miracle that this dinner got made due to the aforementioned headache, but somehow, the valentines fairies smiled down upon us.

Little Bunny Fu Fu

 Emilee got a new coat this week.  Made in the same fashion as the blue bird coat, only this time we decided on a bunny with a white fluffy tail.

She really likes the tail.  I hope it holds up!

 Gordon is still trying to convince me to mass market these things, sure I will make him his fortune.  Alas, it would appear I only have eyes for my own little ones these days.  I love sewing for them, and then enjoying watching them wear the items and love them.  Not to mention endless compliments everywhere we go. But the thought of putting the time into one and then letting it go is not appealing to me.  Even for a little cash.

Anyway, we already love this cuddler and are looking forward to more non rainy spring days so we can sport it all over town!

while you were away . . .

I left the house for an hour a few days ago.  When I got back Gordon told me I should check out the new pictures he got on the camera.

a ski day

This is sadly the only picture I have of my boys (Ethan, Aidan, and Gordon) as they headed up to Mt. Hood for a surprise ski day with Dad.  They all played hookey from school and work and dad won the day as the hero.  They were so excited!  It was a wet day, and even rained on them, and all the snow clothes were SOAKED, but Aidan and Ethan were both heard to say, "this was the best day ever!" and "can we do this every day?" and other such things that helped us to know it was wonderful.  You swig that hot chocolate Ethan. . .

Upwards Basketball

Aidan is on a fun basketball team right now.  We have been so impressed.  It is run through a local church (Mountain Park Church) and they use the "Upwards" program, which is basically just sports, but with an emphasis on Christianity.  It has been such fun.

They start each game with a big blow up tunnel (see below) and a fog machine, and the kids run through it while they announce their team and names, and they high five everyone on their way to the court.  There is of course very intense music playing here. . .  to really get you in the mood.

 They have a prayer before the game, and a devotional at half time for the parents while the kids are having a meeting with their coaches.

And after the game, every kid gets a star to put on their shirt.  Aidan got "most Christlike" today for being really good about sharing the ball and making sure everybody got enough ball time.  He's also received an offense star, and a sportsmanship star. . . you get the idea.

Anyway, it's just been such a fun program.  I recommend it!  The Ref's are really serious about making sure the kids are following the rules and teaching them along the way.  The practices are fun, and the uniform is out of this world!  One of the best parts for us. . . it was very affordable (and included the uniform!)!  We love Upwards Basketball!
