Bowling with the Grands

While Keren was in the hospital for 6 weeks, Grandma and Grandpa came back from their Christmas trip down south to help out with her children. Hurray for grandparents! While they were still here, we took advantage of a day off of school to go bowling all together. Taking 7 children bowling is an adventure for even experienced mothers and fathers (and grandparents!) and I give Ann and Alan kudos and lots of love for joining us on this adventure. Thanks for the fun!

Ethan and Aidan tried their first non-bumper games. Grandpa bowled left handed (due to his sling) and fun was had by all!

note: Sorry about all these low quality videos. We haven't figured out how to get video from our camera onto our new computer yet so I'm relying on my Ipod for the occasional videos. . .

Heidi's Magical Laugh

Heidi has been a bit tight lipped with her laughter and cooing, but when she gets going it's so much fun. The other night Aidan came up with a funny little game for her. She loved it!

Pancakes in PJ's

Just to round out my day of craziness in preparation for the Pine Wood Derby, Emilee's preschool had their annual pancakes and pajama's day. Emilee was sure I needed to attend, so between chiropractor appointments, popcorn production, and pine wood derby prep, I headed into share a marvelous plate of pancakes and whipped cream with my little sweetheart. It was a highlight of the day!

First Meal

We've tried a couple of times over the last few weeks to get Heidi to accept a meal from a source other than me. She does not like bottles and so far would not eat any food off a spoon. Our attempts have previously ended in gagging and puking! But, tonight I had Gordon give it a try, and he seems to have the magic touch! She ate (a very small amount) from a spoon and managed not to barf on dad.

A happy and a sad day! Definitely feel like we're entering "stage two" of baby-ness, and she is going to be crawling before I know it! She's getting up and rocking on hands and knees now. Good job Heidi! I guess we'll let you grow up and learn to do all sorts of fun things, like eating!

Derby Days

I don't have very many pictures from the pine wood derby because I was busy busy busy! I was in charge of the food, and helping with some other logistics, so I wasn't around my camera much. Here are a few photos we snapped that evening. . .

Here are all the cars lined up. Aidan's is the first in line there (the BYU car!) and Ethan's is three down from that (orange with flames) they both did very well and had a great time!

Lego Maniac

That's my boy! Chandler loves to build build build with his legos. We have both sizes, but he tends to enjoy his big duplo ones the most.

This little invention is his "magic telescope." When you look through it you can see yourself!

I love that chandler brings me inventions like this on a daily basis. It's amazing to see what he comes up with.

my Piano Man

Nothing makes me happier every morning than listening to my little guy play the piano. His skills have definitely surpassed my own at this point, and he loves to play. Some days more than others, of course. But often, he will choose to sit down and play something lovely just for the joy of it, not because he has to, and I love that.

paper footballs

Aidan is such a goose. His last requirement to get his Wolf badge in cub scouts is to present and display a collection of something. He decided on paper footballs! Check out this action shot!!!

He started folding different sizes and couldn't stop. He also afixed a goal post to the wall so he wouldn't have to depend on a brother or sister to help him out.

And suddenly, we have a jar with 100 paper footballs. That should probably be enough!

Baking on a Friday Afternoon

Emilee and I tried our hands at baking some yummy grainy bread on Friday. She loved watching it rise in the bowl, feeling it, kneading it, and then eating it!

Greetings from the frozen North (West!)

We awoke this morning to snow flurries and the children have thoroughly enjoyed it. If only it was a school day so we could miss some school. They're still hoping the weather holds until Tuesday.

And now, for the best part of this weeks report. Chandler has spent the week honing in his videography skills. He asks constantly to use my iPod so he can make me another movie. These are my two favorites from the week. And, if you watch closely, you'll get a REALLY fast tour of my house, from the family room to Chandler's room. I hope you can get at least a chuckle out of these, I know we did!

5 Months old

Well, the Heidi Bear is 5 months old, on the 6th. How the time has flown! I tried to set up an impromptu photo session, and it went fairly well, though not my best. But, pictures great or not, she is beautiful!

Strangely enough, this is my fav! Something about that little nose peeking over. . .

Did I mention yet that a trampoline arrived at our home on Christmas day? It has been SUCH a fun toy. Children large and small alike have enjoyed this big toy. It is a great workout! And a great way for the kids to spend time together. I have been drying endless bath towels, because whenever it stop raining, somebody is out there drying it off so they can jump.
