Grammy's Visit

My mother stayed for a week after Heidi's blessing day.  It's always so much fun to have Grammy around!  And, it was so nice to have an extra set of hands in the house.  I was able to run the kids to school without packing up the girls a couple of times, and shower, and do a few other things that sometimes put on the backburner these days.  while she was here, we:

Put Heidi in a pumpkin
Made a new cover for our expanded table.  We did this five years ago and we have worn it out!  That, and we need a leaf in the table now.  This is one of those things that you can only tackle with somebody you really love, it's that big of a pain.  So if you come over to my house and see how amazing it is, and want me to make you one, I'll probably say something like, "when pigs fly."  My mom must love me a lot.  :)
We played with Heidi the wonder baby lots and lots.  She is such a love.
And, Grammy's ladybug dreams came true for Halloween.  Heidi was very cooperative!
Thanks for coming Gram!  We love you lots and lots!

Blessing Day

Today was Heidi Ann's blessing day, a very happy day!  It was a beautiful fall day and we were able to enjoy it with many family and friends.  Phoebe Ann's blessing was also today, born just a week apart, these girls are destined to be good friends!  (and they both played the same trick on their mama's in their blessing dresses!  GIRLS!  Behave yourselves!)
Here is all of the family who came to support us.  It was so nice to have everyone together at church, wish we could do it more often!  (and the extra laps for Emilee to sit on are always nice!)

Our little beauty in her creamy dress.  I was going to make her a new blessing dress, but I love this one so much I decided both girls should wear it.  She looked so beautiful today.

Just one of the many reasons. . .

I could have given you a about 200 reasons why I always hoped for a daughter.  And this little black sweater dress is probably about #86.  I love Sundays!

Guess who's Grinning?

Our little lady has started holding her head up and smiling!  It's so much fun!
Chandler and Emilee make great cheerleaders!

Cinderella goes to the Ball

Emilee got invited to a "princess party" where they had a lovely little tea party and did their nails and were all princesses for a day.  She had a wonderful time!  Here she is showing off her lovely princess look.  We didn't have a tiara for her to wear so we braided one in.
This is how you strike a princess pose. . .

the Sweetest Sleeper

My little Heidi has got to be the sweetest, most content baby around.  She is the happiest sleeper I have ever seen.  In fact, most of the time when she's napping, she's got just the slightest smile on her lips.
 What a happy napper!

I love this girl.  I'd love her even if she was fussy and cranky, but she sure makes it easy to love her with her peaceful little spirit!

Bush Whackers

Our new house has some interesting landscaping.  I believe it's called "low maintenance" landscaping.  Here's a nice picture of part of the backyard.
Lovely, isn't it?  So, the good news is that as soon as we get these spiney mushroom bushes out, we have a blank canvas to work with.  So, sometimes I send Aidan down to "whack a bush."  He does a pretty bang up job at it.
And sometimes everybody gets in on the action.

Now, ideas for a wonderful, functional, fun backyard anyone?

Moving Right Along

Moving with a 6 week old baby is an adventure.  Even if your baby is as sweet and relaxed as our Heidi is, I do not recommend it under any circumstances.  It was insane!  Gordon and I were often commenting on how only one of us could be productive at a time so that when our girl was awake she got the attention she needed.

Here are a couple of pictures from the moving days. . .

Here is Heidi in her favorite spot.  Sometimes when she's in her favorite spot she likes to barf a little bit on dad's shirt.  She usually saves it up all day and doesn't get mom (she rarely spits!), and then gets dad right as he comes in for a snuggle.  It's a special talent she has. . .  Gordon just loves it!
Ready, Aim, Fire!

Grandma Came!

About a week before the move, Grandma Ann came to town!  She discovered that Heidi loves to lay on her tummy on our laps, and Heidi spent many a playtime and naptime that way with Grandma.  We miss you Grandma!  Thanks for coming to stay with us!

Dead computer!

I regret to say our computer has all but bit the dust. Until we are back up and running I'll be posting from my IPod.

Here's a little Heidi to hold you over!
