Once back at Gram's, we spent the week swimming and playing. Please enjoy this little video of the swimmign days! And please, if you get sea sick, brace yourself. Swimming and filming at the same time is not easy!

Surf Camp
I've been trying to get a little music video of surf camp going but my program is being goofy. I guess I'll have to settle for a regular photo post. Here is surf camp, in all it's glory! We had so much fun. It's always a challenge with a baby at surf camp and Gordon and I both noted that we felt like it was a "tag team" vacation. One of us would be with Heidi, whether she be napping, playing, or whatever, and the other with the other kids. But it was still a home run vacation for all. Everyone went to bed exhausted every night and woke up excited for the next day. Here are a few pictures to wrap it up. . .
We got off to a bit of a rough start, with Grampy scoring a flat on the freeway not 10 minutes from picking up the MoHo. They had to stop the whole freeway to pick up his schrapnal. I'll bet we had a few people cursing us during that rush hour!
But we made it! And the fun began. . .We had "Cardiff Crack" twice. Oh so delicious. (tumbled tti tip)
a quick stop by VG's for doughnuts every morning after breakfast
The water was warm and heavenly this year!
Surf camp is exhausting! I've never seen Heidi pass out like this before.
Heidi LOVED the beach! A little too much. She ate sand constantly, and was trying to get into the waves every moment she could. She would not be stopped!
Emilee has beautiful hair at the beach.
On our way home again. Thanks for an awesome trip, Gram and Gramp!

Happy Birthday Heidi!
On August 6, 2 days after arriving at Grammy's house, we celebrated our Heidi Ann's first birthday! She enjoyed her "party" and cake and opening gifts.
Her favorite gift? This ball! Heidi is a mini ball motor of sorts, and Aidan is thrilled about this! Once she got a hold of this ball, it was all she wanted! We should have saved it for last.
Look at my beautiful ball!!!
Maybe I'll open more gifts!
Just kidding, I just want my ball!
Me and my ball.
This laying chicken was a pretty big hit, once the ball rolled sufficiently away. So cute!
Happy Birthday baby!
the long journey, begins!
Here begin the chronicles of our long journey! We have made it to San Diego and back! We started our adventure on Friday, August 3. We drove to Folsom, Ca to spend the night with our dear friends, the Heiney's. We miss them so much! The children had a wonderful time together and we had a delicious dinner prepared by John!
Here are all the kids together. Back to front, left to right we have: Anna, Grace, Chandler, Katie, Emilee, Aidan, Heidi, and Ethan. Katie and Ethan were best buddies and practically cousins in their early days. It's fun to see them together again!
Thank you so much Nicole, John and crew for putting us up for the night!

Happy Birthday Heidi Ann!
My sweet baby is 1. Happy Birthday to the sweetest, happiest baby that ever was. Heidi is the icing on the Wilde cake. She is the sunshine of our lives and how we love her! Here she is on her birthday, such a happy day.
I would like to stomp my feet and whine that she is growing up, but instead, I'm going to smile, and kiss her chubby cheeks, and give her a birthday squeeze, if only to stop from crying. Happy Birthday baby girl.

Ethan took these first three photos, aren't they beautiful?

Emilee's first talk
Emilee was assigned her first primary talk a couple of weeks ago. She was SO excited, helped write the talk, prepared well, memorized it, and delivered well! Way to go Emilee!
my Baby's baby
This week, Heidi crawled up to one of Emilee's dolls and picked her up for a cuddle and a sweet little coo. Since then, she has been snuggling up, rocking, and cooing at all the babies she can find. It's always amazing to me how that mothering instinct is present from the start with some kids. She appears to be following in her sisters's footsteps.
